Chrysler 300C The Stretched Version

As automakers go, developing well received models is a chore all on its own. When a model becomes a hit, as has the Chrysler 300C, the result is favorable press coverage, high customer satisfaction ratings, and a “halo” effect that will extend to the entire product line. Chrysler’s 300C is a success, but the German-American automaker isn’t stopping there. A stretched version of the car is being developed, one that could find a following among fans, but only if the price is right.

So, why would DaimlerChrysler authorize a stretched version of the 300C? For many reasons including:

The Limousine Market – Although the 300C isn’t on the same level as the Lincoln Town Car or Cadillac DTS, the automobile does battle with the Ford Crown Victoria. Thus , taxi and limousine operators will be drawn to the stretched 300C as the car gives its passengers the room that they need.

The Pursuit Market – The Ford Crown Victoria is the most popular police pursuit auto followed by the Chevy Impala. Chrysler way back conceded this market when they give up building larger rear wheel drive vehicles. The stretched 300C could fit in nicely and give the automaker some further sales to lift market share. Look for a likewise stretched Dodge Charger to also be built once 300C demand has been proven.

Chevy Corvette Has Variety Of Options

Corvette C6 Z06

The Chevrolet Corvette, a Sports car legend and an automobile Classic for ever, has somehow survived inflated insurance rates; all types of inane and meaningless safety legislation and engine pollution add ons. The Chevrolet Corvette has been universally accepted as the measure of a high-performance sports auto. Vehicles are cyclical, new model of vehicles appear and vanish and yet the Corvette lives on. No auto has been able to cover as many aspects of the hi-performance sport as the Corvette. The flexibility of this superb car has appealed to all age groups and has kept the ownership of a Corvette, a most prestigious thing.

The Corvette has gone through many changes in its lifetime, including every custom and hot rod trend going. It is a miracle the Corvette has remained a true high performance sports automobile and did not mature into a two plus two sedan as did Ford’s Thunderbird. The Corvette was in the on the beginnings of the fast car era. In the mid 50’s folk wanted fast cars, and by 1957 the Corvette was leading the pack. Hot rodding owes a giant debt to the Corvette; it was in charge of just about all higher performance parts ever to come from Chevrolet. 4 speed transmissions, dual quad intake manifolds and hot solid lifter camshafts.

Emergency Car Kits – An Overview

This is not one of my usual posts, but just a reminder that we should all be carrying an emergency kit in our cars for those unexpected breakdowns.  This is something we all know and agree on, but tend to think we have more than enough time to organize.  Remember, breakdowns happen when you least expect it so be prepared, especially with the holidays fast approaching and all the driving you might be doing. Hope this post helps …..

An emergency can hardly be prevented. Accidents and disasters can come in any person’s way, regardless how rich or poor, young or old he or she is. Especially when you consider a vehicle owner, a vehicle is prone to meet with many accidents and deadly situations at any given time. For this reason emergency car kits should be mandatory for any vehicle owner. An accident could be waiting for you around any street corner. While prevention is the best option, it is not always possible. Many accident fatalities and serious injuries happen because of the lack of emergency car kits.

Hybrid Car – A Simple Guide

A hybrid car is a vehicle that uses two or even more distinct sources of power in order to get propelled. Among the power sources for a hybrid car there are gasoline or diesel fuel, on-board or out-board rechargeable energy storage systems (RESS), hydrogen, wind, compressed or liquid natural gas, solar, coal, wood or other solid combustibles, etc. The term hybrid car/vehicle is used most frequently to refer to hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) in which an internal combustion engine is combined with one or more electric motors.

As mentioned above, there are other hybrid vehicles beside the hybrid cars we will mainly deal with here. Just think of mopeds and electric bicycles. These are the simplest forms of hybrid vehicles. They combine the power from an internal combustion engine or electric motor with the power of the rider’s muscles. Then there are hybrid heavy vehicles like railway locomotives, buses, heavy goods vehicles, ships or mobile hydraulic machinery. Usually, the term hybrid car/ vehicle is used to refer to hybrid electric vehicles. This category includes the following types of automotives: AHS2 (Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Silverado, Cadillac Escalade, Saturn Vue), Toyota Prius, Ford Escape Hybrid, Toyota Highlander Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Honda Civic Hybrid, Honda Insight and many others. A petroleum-electric hybrid car usually gets its power from an internal combustion engine (gasoline or diesel engine) and an electric battery.
